The world wide web is a place where everything online is connected in the most complex “web” of links that there is. This allows webpages to be accessed via the browser, and for users to hop link to link through a variety of connected topics and ideas.

However, after one spends time browsing the world wide web, it is easy to see that it is a place where people can freely express themselves. Webpages allow us direct access into one another's thoughts and opinions through exploring personal webpages. These sites are unique to their creator and allow the developer more autonomy in the amount they seek to share compared to posts on social media. The web allows us to make our own websites without limitation on creativity, and users and creators alike have the ability to access these pages as long as the web is alive.

Through guest speakers in this course, we also saw the world wide web as a form of art, with web art being displayed at art museums such as the Whitney. On a scale smaller than an art museum, personal websites serve as a combination of art and diary on its own. These types of websites are what make the world wide web unique. The user-driven quality and accessibility make the world wide web a sandbox for anyone with any level of experience.
